Sgt. Enrique Mondragon, 23, of The Colony, Texas, died Dec. 24, in Baraki Barak, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained when his unit was attacked by small arms fire while on dismounted patrol. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Bamberg, Germany. Sgt. Enrique Mondragon, United States Army, age 23, of Little Elm, was killed in Afghanistan, on December 24, 2012. He married Katie Argueta on October 3, 2009 in Carrollton. Enrique is survived by his wife, Katie; their 2 year old daughter, Beverly; mother, Barbara; father, Sergio; sister, Diphna Charo and brothers, Sergio Martin del Campo, Jr. and Alexis Martin del Campo. Funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
