Joseph Krotz, 60 of 817 Dewey Street, lifelong resident of Iowa City, died at a local hospital at 6:30 o'clock August 8, 1940 after a lingering illness.
Born August 3, 1880, Mr. Krotz was married to Bertha Pudil in 1903. She died in 1924. In 1930 he married FLora Ishmael in Iowa City.
For 32 years he was affiliated with the Howell Shrader Drug Co., and from 19343 to 1938 was sexton of the Iowa City Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow, one son, George J Krotz, of Iowa City, one step-daughter, Mrs. Wayne Lawson of Wooster, Ohio, a brother, George J Krotz, of Terral, Oklahoma and an aunt, Mrs, Herman Strub, of Iowa City.
