Rosa [Herzog] Niederman was born December 20, 1851 in Ungvar, Hungary according to her Death Certificate and Census Records. Information on her parents is not known at this time.
Rosa married Benjamin Niederman about 1873 in Hungary and they had six children, all of whom were born in Hungary: Moritz (Maurice) Jacob, Regina, Malvina, Leo, Gertrude and Sara Niederman.
Benjamin immigrated to the United States in 1888 and settled in Chicago, Illinois where he began a furniture business.
Rosa with their six children then arrived in the United States aboard the ship Amalfi on May 20, 1895.
After Benjamin retired about 1920, their son Leo took over the business.
Benjamin died May 8, 1931 in Chicago and is laid to rest in the Waldheim Cemetery. Rosa joined her husband in death on April 5, 1935 and is laid to rest beside Benjamin.

"Rosa Niederman of 5100 Harper Avenue, beloved wife of the late Benjamin, fond mother of Maurice (Moritz), Mrs. Regina Klein, Malvina, Leo, Mrs. Gertrude Scott and Sarah Niederman. Funeral services Monday, April 8, at 10:00 a.m. at chapel 936 East 47th Street to Waldheim Cemetery."
