Mrs. Emma L. Kegebein, wife of J. F. Kegebein, died suddenly early on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Kegebein had been confined to her bed since Monday, suffering from chills and illness which was thought not to be serious. Wednesday morning she was worse, and Dr. Wilcox was called at 7 o'clock. When he arrived about ten minutes later Mrs. Kegebein was dying. An inquest was held by coroner Elliott Wednesday afternoon and an autopsy was performed by Drs. Wilcox and Price, which revealed the cause of death as acute double pneumonia.
Mrs. Kegebein was 33 years of age. She was born at Sheffield, Ill., in 1873 and was married to Mr. Kegebein at Bradford in 1893. She was the mother of five children, three of whom survive her, the oldest, 11 years and the youngest 4 years of age. Her death comes as a hard blow to the family and sympathy is universal in the community.
The funeral was held today, Thursday, at the Presbyterian church, and the body will be taken to Bradford for burial, where two of her children are buried.
