PARSONS - Velma Kuntz, 92, Parsons, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home, Parsons.
She was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Thayer, the daughter of Ray M. and Mary M. Harms Adams.
She grew up in rural Thayer and graduated from Thayer High School. She then attended business college in Parsons.
She lived in Parsons before moving to Bella Vista, Ark., in the 1970s. After about 20 years in Arizona, she moved back to Parsons in 1997.
She was employed for many years at the Newfield Jewelry Store, Parsons, where she worked as a bookkeeper and also did watch repair.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Parsons. She had been active in the former First United Methodist Church, Parsons, and its women's groups.
She enjoyed traveling and camping.
On Dec. 31, 1929, she married George L. Kuntz in Thayer. He died Dec. 14, 2000.
Survivors include a sister, Ortha Elrod, Parsons; three nieces, Melba Knight and Agnes Jones, Parsons, and Carolyn Reece, Leavenworth; and two nephews, Darold Elrod, Chanute, and Duane Elrod, Erie.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home, led by the Rev. Paul Hett. Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery.
