Following an operation for sceptic peritonitis, William W. Balsley, aged 17 years, died this morning at an early hour at the Cottage State hospital. The operation was performed yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock an the patient died this morning about 2:50. Deceased had been ailing since Thanksgiving and his condition was very serious when removed to the hospital. Little hopes were entertained for his recovery. The body was removed to J. E. Sims rooms and prepared for burial.
Deceased was a son of William R. Balsley of Connellsville township and was employed at a brick yard near Moyer. His mother, Mrs. Nancy Stafford Balsley, died several years ago. Besides his father he is survived by several brothers and sisters. The body was removed from J. E. Sims' rooms to the home of C. H. Balsley, a brother of the deceased, No. 102 Virginia avenue, from which place services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment in Hill Grove cemetery.
