Mrs. Swindell, the former Willie Ellen Hensley, was born in White County and moved to Fayetteville in 1937. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Nettie Williams Hensley. She was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. D. C. Swindell; three sons, James Swindell of Fayetteville, Billy Swindell of Fayetteville, and Charles Swindell of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Womack of Doye, Tennessee, and Mrs. Laura Davis of Oceana, West Virginia; two brothers, Wallace Hensley of McMinnvile, Tennessee, and Lewis Hensley of Clarksville; and seven grandchildren.
