Edward Hilton and William Hilton, her uncles, were wealthy London fishmongers who came and settled the Dover Colony at the same time the MARTINS and ROBERTS families came, around 1623.

John MARTIN settled in Dover in 1648 to 1666, served on the Grand Jury in 1654, a freeman in 1666 and removed to Piscataway, New Jersey, 1666-1676, and Woodbridge, New Jersey, 1676-1687.
