Aurelie was born and raised on the Ourada Ranch north of Boise, ID. Aurelie attended the Stack Rock school while her sister Anne was teaching. She boarded at St. Theresa Academy her 9th grade year. She graduated from Boise High School. She attended Holy Names College in Spokane, Washington earning a B/A degree in dietetics 1956. She worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Spokane until her first child was born May 1959.

Aurelie was dating Mike's room-mate and would double date with her room-mate. She took a leave of absence from work and took a trip to the east with her parents. She and Mike began dating upon her return. She and Mike married 1958 (I was three months old and am the baby being held in their wedding pictures) and lived in Spokane, where he worked for Carter Oil company. Their down payment on their house was $100 and then $100 monthly payments. They had six children, Mike, Tessi, Luke, Tammi, Mary, and Kelly. In 1963 they were transferred to the Seattle area, 1968 transfer to Spokane, 1970 transfer to Wenatchee and 1971 transfer to Spokane. Mike retired in 1976, and in the spring of 1977 bought the Usk General Store, where they became proprietors of a little country store. Aurelie was a newspaper writer for the Usk Times. Their son Luke and his wife eventually took over management of the store adding a restaurant to the premises 2004

Aurelie was a member of the Pend Oreille Scenic and chaired the annual "Poker Paddle", a two day canoe paddle down the Pend Oreille river. She spent years doing research on the history of the county and writing down stories. She was involved in the American Legion and carried the auxiliary flag for many ceremonies. Along with her husband, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and the annual bus trip to points in Nevada to gamble.

With her children at her side, Aurelie Keogh (Ourada), of Usk, Washington, rose to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born August 6, 1934, in Boise, Idaho, Aurelie was the 10th of 12 children born to Mathias and Gladys Stiff Ourada and was raised on the family homestead. She attended Stack Rock one-room school house, graduated from Boise High School, received her bachelor's degree in Dietetics from Holy Names College, and worked for St. Luke's Hospital in Spokane. In 1958, she married her favorite "blind-date," Michael D. Keogh and went on to raise six beautiful children. For the next 20 years, they lived throughout the state of Washington, then settled in Usk, where they owned and operated the Usk General Store, Keo's Korner, until retirement in 2002. Aurelie gave freely of her time volunteering for her family, church, and community throughout her life. She was both a Girl and Boy Scout leader, room-mother, youth group leader, substitute teacher, health educator, and swim instructor. While living in Bellevue, she was the president of the Eastgate Garden Club. In Spokane, she was an active member of St. Thomas More Altar Society. In Pend Oreille County she served as director and chairman- Cusick School Board; secretary/treasurer- St. Jude's Catholic Church; many various positions- American Legion auxiliary, Calispel Unit - 217; charter member of Pend Oreille Scenic and chairman of the Annual Poker Paddle. As a prolific writer, Aurelie authored many "Living Memories" articles for the Cusick Newsletter. Affectionately known as "Aunt "O" by her many nieces and nephews, she welcomed everyone with open arms and continues to make a huge impression on all. Aurelie-strong, dignified, multi-talented, caring woman- was an individual in her own right. a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Aurelie will be missed and never forgotten. Aurelie was preceded in death by Mike, her husband of 49 years, and daughter, Mary Louise; her parents, two sisters, and four brothers. She is survieved by her children: Michael (Kelly) of Usk; Theresa "Tessi" Golis (Tom) of Boise, Idaho; Luke (Liz) of Usk; Tamela "Tammi" Fabiano (Franco) of Syracuse, New York; and Kelley Phipps (Chuck) of Fruitland, Idaho; 23 grand children and five great -grand-children. She is also survived by three brothers; Austin, Phillip, and Earl and two sisters: Florence Theobald and June Trent. A Rosary Vigil will be held Wednesday, October 12th at 7pm at Saint Jude's Catholic Church, Usk. A Mass of Christian Burieal will be helpd Thursday, October 13 at 1pm at St Thomas More Catholic Church, Spokane with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, Calispel Unit 217, children and youth Programs, PO Box 272 Cusick, Wa 99119. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.
