Delia was born on November 11, 1915, in rural Crookston, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Welter) Warner. She attended Eldred schools. On September 20, 1937, Delia was united in marriage to Henry Hector Fortier at the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Crookston. Together they farmed near Harold Station for many years, before moving to Crookston after retiring in 1975. Sadly, Henry passed away on March 12, 1980.
Loving family members include her children, Jean (Ralph "Bud") Svedahl of Crookston, MN, and Theodore (Marlys) Fortier of Underwood, MN; four grandchildren, Regina (Patrick) Theison, Rodney Fortier, Richard Svedahl and Rose Larsen; six great-grandchildren, Catherine, Pat, Anna Marie, Aidan, Bridger and Derek; and other relatives. Besides her husband, Henry, Delia was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Maryln Larsen; and two grandsons, Robert "Rob" and Reginald "Reg"; and siblings, Austin Warner, Hughie Warner, Harold Warner, Bernice Ames and Jim Warner.
The funeral service for Delia Fortier will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 16, 2010 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Visitation will be for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Gentilly, Minnesota.
