Alvin A. Starr - Funeral service for Alvin A. Starr, 73, 18733 Fifth Street, Bloominton, Calif., a former resident of Clyde before moving west in 1946, was held this morning (Wednesday) at 11:00 in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, the Rev. John Ferne, St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
Mr. Starr, a bookkeeper and accountant for the former Nickel Plate Line, died early on Thursday, March 25, in a hospital near his California home following a brief illness.
He was born January 2, 1904, in Bellevue, the son of the late Daniel and Emily (Yeager) Starr. He spent his early life and received his education in Bellvue and Clyde. He married Nora Maud Trusdle Lacey on August 18, 1926. Their married life was spent first in Clyde, then in California for the past 36 years.
She is survived by Mrs. Starr; daughters, Mrs. Roger (Nora) Gibson of Co. Rd. 175 and Mrs. William (Ethel) Frame of Hershey, Neb.; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Ed Starr, Celina, Ohio; and sister, Mrs. Irene Knight, Columbus.
He was preceded by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
A former member of Clyde St. Paul Lutheran Church, he was a member of Monticello Lodge No. 244, F & AM; and of the Luther Circle in California.
The family received callers at the funeral home Tuesday evening, when Masonic services were held.
