The following information provided by findagrave contributor Michelle (#47492605):
"William was born on his father Allen's farm in 1840, and died in 1866. He and his brother, James, served in the Civil War in the 60th Ohio Infantry, which had 32 men from Barnesville. They were in Company C. This was known as Hamilton Eaton's company and included Joshua Barnes, age 25, Joshua Barnes age 36, and James B. Hall age 25, all relatives of William and James (Tameyhill). Both William and James were wounded in the battle of Mary's Bridge, Nye River, Virginia, in May 1864. James died ten days later, and William was discharged a few months later (Tamey Hill). At the time of their enlistment, they were both living with their father, Allen, Once when the old house was being remodeled, their names and dates of departure for the wall were found on the wall of a bedroom when paper was being removed...Wm. had married Nancy DeNoon on March 17, 1862.... Their first child, Kate, was born Jan. 9, 1864, James was born in 1865, and Allen on Aug. 6, 1866. All of them were born in Allen's house. Very shortly after the birth of Allen, his father, Wm. Henry, was thrown from the hay mow at the farm, in a brotherly wrestling match, one Sunday during a rain storm. He broke his back, and as a result, died at age 26. His widow and his three children continued to live with Allen and Elizabeth Barnes until Nancy remarried on Sept. 28, 1876. Allen was regarded almost as a father to these children who had been raised in his home. (separate disc.) Nancy's second marriage was to Caleb Barnes, a son of Joshua and Jane Shotwell Barnes. Joshua was born in 1820, and Jane in 1826. Jane Shotwell from Somerset, Ohio. That marriage produced, at least, two children, John F. Barnes, a dentist, and Wall Barnes, a printer. Wall's wife was Mrs. Annie. These Barneses were not suppose to be related to the David & Allen Barnes line. I am not sure...There were four children from this marriage. Roy C., born April 28, 1877 died of brain fever on March 3, 1878. Jennie, 1878 - 1952, married Edward Rickenbaugh of Newark, Ohio, and removed to Tiffin. Their children were Harry, Helen, (Mrs. Weideman), Katheryn, ( Mrs. Geo. Leher), Edward and Robert...Bertha (Gay) 1880 - 1947, married Frank Duge of Wheeling, and later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their children were Ruth, Nancy, and Gay...Pearl 1883 - 1948, was married to a Korm. She died without issue in Tulsa...Nancy's marriage to Caleb Barnes had been unfortunate, and they separated. Nancy and Pearl removed to Tiffin, where they lived for number of years before Nancy's death in her sons, Allen's, home in 1909. She is buried next to William Henry Harrison Barnes in Southern Cemetery ( Allen's plot ) Barnesville."
