Funeral services for Cecil Homer Barefoot were held Wednesday, March 27, 1985 at 2:00 in the afternoon in the First United Methodist Church of Shamrock.
Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor, and Rev. Terry Raines, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Samnorwood officiated.
Pallbearers were Stanley Barefoot of Los Angeles, CA, Laron Breeding of Canadian, Joe Conner of Elk City, OK, Elvis Adams of Baxter Springs,KS, Scott Barefoot and Kenny Otts, both of Shamrock.
Interment was in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Richerson Funeral home.
Mr. Barefoot died March 25, 1985 at 8:26 p.m. at his home, 108 West 9th Street, Shamrock, TX.
Born September 30, 1904 near Hollis,OK, Cecil Homer Barefoot and Lois E. Jones were married December 19, 1926 in Gould, OK. They lived northeast of Hollis, OK where they farmed until 1951 when they moved to California for approximately three years. They lived in Borger from 1955 to 1974, moving to Samnorwood where they lived in the community for four years, moving to Shamrock in 1978.
Mr. Barefoot was retired from the City of Borger in 1974 where he worked in the Park Department. He was member of the First United Methodist Church of Shamrock.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; two sons, J.C. Barefoot and Delmer Barefoot, both of Shamrock: four sisters, Naomi Cole of El Centro, CA, Vera Edmonson of Hollis, OK, Ollie Hanes of Tulsa, OK, and Hazel Highfill of Alva, OK.
