He was born Feb. 27, 1890, in Pebble, Ky., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles William Maddox. He was a resident of the Alexandria community for 40 years and was retired from Guide Lamp, Inspection Department 450. He was a member of the Methodist church in Kentucky. His wife Lantie, died in 1951.
The survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Viola Mae Tharp, Richmond; Mrs. Audrey Leach, Alexandria; and Mrs. Ruby Tomlinson, Yorktown; three sons, William of Alexandria; Noel of Anderson; and Lester of New Castle; three sisters; Mrs. Vida Pierce and Mrs. Pearl Snelling, both of Alexandria; and Mrs. Iona Anderson, Winchester, Ohio; and Claude of Flemingsburg, Ky.; 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery.
