Melissa Jo "Millie" Scheurich, age 43, of Rensselaer passed away surrounded by her loving family at her residence on Wednesday December 12, 2012. Melissa was born on August 9, 1969 in Lafayette, IN to the late Charles and Mary Kathleen (Murphy) Richards.
Melissa was born and raised in Brook, IN. She moved to Rensselaer in 1992.
On June 20, 1992 in Rensselaer Melissa married her beloved husband Patrick Todd Scheurich, he survives. Melissa is a graduate of South Newton High School Class of 1987. After high school, she went on to earn her Bachelors Degree from Indiana State University Terre Haute, IN.
For the past six years Melissa has been a Title Agent and has been employed by Land and Title Agency of Rensselaer. She had previously worked for Lafayette Bank & Trust Rensselaer Branch for fourteen years.
Melissa was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a past member, officer and grand council officer of Sigma Alpha Chi Theta Chapter. Melissa enjoyed attending her daughter Lauren's Rensselaer Central High School volleyball and softball sporting events.
Melissa is preceded in death by her, parents and two infant sisters.
Friends may call from 2 PM to 8 PM on Sunday December 16, 2012 at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services for Melissa will be held at 10: 00 AM on Monday December 17, 2012 with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Internment will follow at Burr Oak Cemetery.
