Angeline Smith Brady was born near
Elyria, Ohio on October 16, 1829 and
departed this life at Marysville, Kansas
at 12:30 on Saturday February 10,
1917 at the age of 87 years, 3 months
and 25 days.
Angeline Smith spent her early child-
hood days in New York state, near
Syracuse, and when she was sixteen
years of age she moved with her
parents to Delaware county, Iowa,
where in May 1849 she was married to
Elisha Brady, to this union was born
two daughters, Lucy and Mary. Lucy
passed away a few years ago.
The family came to Kansas in 1870
and the following year located in
Frankfort, where the family had lived
until a couple of years ago when Mr.
Brady engaged in business here with
the first lumber yard. He passed
away in April 1884.
Mrs. Brady was an untiring worker in
the up building of the town, and was
one of the organizers of the charter
member fo the first church and Sunday
school in this part of Marshall county.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
M.B. Weston; seven grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the M.E.
Church in Marysville with Reverend
A.R. Williams officiating at 10:00
on February 12.
Burial was in the Willow Hill Cemetery,
