SERVICES FOR RUSSELL DALL

Funeral services were held for (Gus) Russell Lee Dall on Tuesday, December 4, 1984, at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska, with Dr. Norman Schroeder officiating. Interment was in the Prairie View Cemetery north and west of Washington. Casketbearers were: Jerry Ritchart, Artie Eicke, Merle Campbell, Fred Schumacher, Harry McGinnis and Walter Sass.

Vocalist was Dennis Paulsen. He sang “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Miriam Sukraw was organist. The Hadan Golden Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Russell Lee Dall, better known as Gus, was born on January 3, 1934, in Omaha to Thomas J. and Mabel Timperley Dall. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed his faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Omaha. He transferred his membership to St. John’s and has continued as a communing member here.

Russell attended school in Omaha and graduated from Benson High School.

On December 20, 1952, he was united in marriage to Reva Krauer. Five children were born to this union. The family has been living in Washington since 1952.

Russell spent two years of active duty in the United States Navy. He was a member of the John S. Bowen Masonic Lodge No. 232 of Kennard and was a Tangier Shriner. These last three years he was employed by the Churchill Truck Line of Omaha and prior to that he was with the Sturm Freight Lines.

He became ill about two years ago and died on December 1, 1984, at the age of 50 years, ten months, and 26 days.
He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Dall.

Russell is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Reva; two daughters, Joann and Cindy; three sons, Thomas, Anton, and Russell; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin (children of Tom and Peggy); Beth, J.R. and Amber (children of Tony and Sherri); his mother, Mabel Dall of Omaha; one brother, Vern of Norfolk; one sister, Marilyn Petersen of Tekamah, Nebraska; other relatives and many friends.
