The 1900 census shows that Henry was a farmer and owned his farm. The 1910 census lists him as a house carpenter and renting a home in town. The 1920 census lists him as a Carpentry contractor on his own account. The 1922 and 1925 Fort Pierce Florida city directory lists his occupation as a farmer once again. The 1930 census lists him as unemployed and owning his home. The 1940 census lists him as a widower and living in the same home as 1935.
Mary died the day before their fifty-first anniversary on February 12, 1940 at age 69. Henry lived to be 84.
