Miriam L. Davis, 86, of Union Springs died Tuesday at a Sebring, Fla., hospital.

A native of Catharine, Mrs. Davis had lived in Union Springs since 1946 and also maintained a home in Sebring. She retired in 1970 from the Union Springs School District and also taught at Odessa Central School District during her 35 years of teaching elementary school. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Cortland Normal School and the State University of New York College at Cortland.

Mrs. Davis was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Union Springs, the Springport Senior Citizens and the Cayuga County and New York State retired teachers associations.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity United Church of Christ, the Rev. Suzanne Wick officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Highland Cemetery, Odessa.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Shakelton Funeral Home, Aurora.

Contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or Union Springs Ambulance Fund.
