KRUG -Ida D., 85, Schoolhouse Drive, Dysart, died March 26, 2005, at home. Born Oct 28, 1919, in R.D. Ashville, daughter of the late James P and Olive (Nagle) Krug. Preceded in death by brothers, Gerald, Ray and James "Phil"; sisters, Ruth Krug, Anna Fogle and Vera Becker; and very good friend Peg Doherty, on Jan 9, 2005. Survived by sister; Sister James Louise, Sister of Charity, Seton Hill, Greensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ida entered the military in 1942 and served as TechSgt. in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1965. She served during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Women in the Air Force Association, Ashville VFW Auxillary,Prince Galitzin Senior Citzens, Cambria County Historical Society, Blair County Genealogy Society and St. Monica's Catholic Church, Chest Springs, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, The Rev. Joseph Fleming celebrant. Committal church cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Monday evening. Military rites in charge of Ashville VFW and other local military organizations. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your favorite charity in Ida's memory.
