"Mrs. Rachel Booker, 80, of Guymon, area resident for more than 50 years, died in High Plains Hospital, Amarillo, Tex., early Monday evening. The daughter of Nannie Mae and George Edward Butler, she was born July 13, 1902 in Wilis (sic Wilkes) County; Ga. She was married to L.H. Booker on Sept. 9, 1925 in Wilkes County, Ga. The Booker's moved to this area in 1932 and established their farm home in the Eva Community. They later moved to the Eula community where they made their home for many years. Mr. Booker died in 1959. Mrs. Booker moved to Guymon in 1960. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a teacher in the nursery dept. for 27 years. She was a charter member and past regent of the High Plains Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of Guymon Chapter order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Booker is survived by: one daughter: Mrs. C.E. "Anne" Scott of Center, Colo.; one son: Harold Booker of Eva, Okla.; one sister: Mrs. Reba Weber of Clov N.M.; three brothers: Charles Butler of Clemson, S.C.; Herman Butler of Jacksonville, Tex.; and Edward Butler, Santa Monica, Calif.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A memorial fund established for the First Baptist Church. Donations will be accepted at Funeral home or the church. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon."
