MRS. MYRTLE MAE NEAL DIES
Long illness with Tuberculosis proved fatal Wednesday evening
Mrs. Myrtle Mae Neal, age 44 years, died at her home east of this city at the top of Hammons hill Wednesday at 6:30 after a long illness with tuberculosis. She was the daughter of John and Anna Buckner, deceased, and the widow of Dempsey Neal, who died July 27, 1926.
She is survived by eight children, Mrs. Earl Hicks, John Robert, Merle Mae, James William, Charles Edward, Pauline, Ruth Alma, and Jack Dempsey Neal, all of this community; two half-brothers, Jake Thacker, of this city and Earl Thacker, of Bloomington, and five grandchildren.
A brother, John Buckner, her mother, Mrs. Anna Buckner, and a half-sister, Hazel Thacker, were killed on February 25, 1928 when the auto in which they were riding was struck by an interurban car at Centerton.
The body was taken to the home of the son, Robert Neal, at 909 East Morgan street where friends may call until noon Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the Cure & Hensley funeral home Friday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. N. S. Jeffrey. Burial will be in South Park cemetery.
