WIDOW OF GOLF CHAMP MIDDLECOFF DIES AT 76
Edith B. Middlecoff, widow of golf champion Dr. Cary Middlecoff, died Saturday at Allen Morgan Nursing Home of complications from a stroke.
She was 76.
Mrs. Middlecoff was a homemaker and former American Airlines flight attendant, and she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Cary Middlecoff, winner of the U.S. Open in 1949 and 1956, died of heart failure in September 1998 at age 77.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in West Memphis.
Mrs. Middlecoff leaves a niece, Nan Buck, and two nephews, Bob Buck and Dr. Richard Buck, all of Memphis and all of whom helped care for her. The family requests memorials be sent to Christ United Methodist Church.
