John W. Sessler, 87, of 819 Maurer Street, Wilton, died at his home Sunday at 2 p.m., following a short illness. The son of Rev. John and Anne Maurer Sessler, he was born Feb. 25, 1880 in Carroll, Ia. He was a lifetime resident of Wilton.
On Nov. 20, 1905, he married Caroline Grunder in Wilton. He was a member of the Wilton Zion Lutheran church and a retired farmer.
Mr. Sessler is survived by three sons, Arthur J. Durant, and Alfred H. and Robert W. of Wilton; one daughter, Mrs. Wilmer (Clara) Theis, Atkins, Ia.; three brothers, Albert of Davenport, Otto of Portland, Ore., and Henry, San Francisco; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sons, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran church in Wilton, with Rev. Paul Mueller officiating.
