Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 20, at Frick Funeral Home in Durant, with Rev. G. W. Ukena of the Wilton Presbyterian Church, Wilton, officiating. Pallbearers are Harold Davis, Charles Knudsen, Arthur Lamp, Herbert Otto, Edward Wulf and Carl Schacht. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Mabel Mecklenburg was born January 20, 1893, in Cedar County, near Bennett, the daughter of John and Agnes (Babbe) Mecklenburg. She received her education in the Cedar County schools. She married Louis Sebelien on November 15, 1911, in Davenport. Together they farmed in Cedar County and were the parents of two daughters, Bernice and Lucille. She and Louis were later divorced. She married George F. Hass on May 19, 1935, in Davenport. Together they owned and operated a grocery store in both Dixon and DeWitt, until they retired in 1951, and moved to Durant.
Surviving are her husband, George; two daughters, Bernice Sebelien of Seattle, WA, and Lucille (Lloyd) Endorf of Wheatland; one sister, Annie Roehlk of Durant; one sister-in-law, Hazel Hass of Davenport; and three nephews, Harvey, Harold and Edward Roehlk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John, Henry and Nicolous Mecklenburg, two brothers-in-law, George Roehlk and Harvey Hass and one nephew, Waldo Roehlk.
