She was born December 7, 1926, in Canonsburg, a daughter of James Vincenzo and Melina Barone Ortuso.
Mrs. Sedmak was retired from the gift-wrapping department of Macy's, South Hills Village.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Anthony R. Sedmak .
Also surviving are her beloved children, Deborah Sedmak of Canonsburg, Joseph (Karen) Sedmak of Houston and Melina (Brian) Novicki of Bethel Park; four grandchildren, Kristin Sedmak , Heather and Jennifer Ackerman and Brian Novicki; a brother, Dominic Ortuso of Parma, Ohio; and a sister, Rose Haines of Canonsburg.
Deceased are two sisters, Josephine Haines and Antionette Dorance; and an infant brother, Dominico Ortuso.
She also will be missed by cats Muffie and Tiger and dachshunds Mistie and Hayden.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, St. Anthony School for Exceptional Children or Multiple Sclerosis.
