Dorothy Onita Blair, age 85, of Maryville, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father, Thursday, December 6, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 27, 1927, in Anderson County. Dorothy worked at Levi-Strauss and then for Knoxville Manufacturing in Powell where she retired after several years employment. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for 60 years. She loved gardening, cooking, animals, and enjoyed collecting then fixing-up collectibles and antiques. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her father, Matt Stringfield; mother, Hazel Gertrude Jones; beloved daughter, Vicky Rigby; sisters, Mary Booker, Peggy Epperson, Opal Gass, and Irene Walker; brother, Ed Stringfield; sister-in-law, Ruth Gaynell Hood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Com and Dicie Blair; aunt and uncle, Susie and Howard Flynn; and cousin, Skipper Flynn.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Winferd L. Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Beverly England; stepson-in-law, David Rigby; nieces, Emma Lee Durham, Linda Pence, and Sharon Coope; nephew, Eddie Booker; beloved friend and caregiver, Vickie Icenhower; dear friends, Bill and Sondra Hedberg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, December 10, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. Tony Collins officiating.
