He was born before 1730.
He appeared in the 1782 Tax List with 12 in his family.
He was in Patrick County, VA. when he bought 1000 acres of land on both sides of the Little Dan River from John Marr for 500 pounds.
On 4 Nov. 1793 Shadrack Going administered the estate of Nathan Going, who is believed to be Shadrack's son. Nathan had been killed by being struck on the head by "the eye of a weeding hoe" by Robert Hall on the plantation of Jacob Lawson.
In Nov. of 1803 Shadrack Goine sold 48 acres to his grandson, Shadrack Beasley.
Shadrack Going wrote his Will 0n 4 Jan. 1805 naming his wife Hannah and Sons, John, David Smith, James Claiborne, Solomon, Shadrack, Caleb, and Obediah.
Daughters Keziah, Jerushe, Fanny Bowlin, wife of Edmund Bowlin, and Hannah Beasley, wife of Thomas Beasley.
Grandchildren Rebecca Going, d/o Fannie Going, wife of Edmund Bowlin, and Shadrack Beasley, son of Hannah Going.
Shadrack Goin/Going/Gowing had at least 17 children between John b.1749 and Keziah b.1789.
