THE MUNCIE STAR, Friday, September 29, 1989

PARKER CITY,Ind.--Benjamin Lushin Bobo, R.R. 2, Parker City, died Thursday in Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis after an illness of several months. He was born in Hodges, Ala., spent his early years there and came to Indiana in 1955. He was employed at Indiana & Michigan Power Co., for 19 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the coast artillery. He was a member of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, where he was a member of the board of deacons and the Delta Alpha Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Selma American Legion Posts 437.

Surviving are his wife, Lura; two daughters, Jennifer and Connie Sue Bobo, at home; three sons, Benjamin L. Bobo, Jr. of Indianapolis, Fred Bobo, serving with the Army stationed in Colorado, and John Bobo, Muncie; his foster son, Gary Spradlin, Muncie; three grandsons; two brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Meeks Mortuary, with Rev. Earl Vaughn, pastor of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling at the mortuary will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday. Memorials may be sent to Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, the board of deacons or the Delta Alpha Class of the church.
