Was portrayed as an Indianapolis 500 rival of Clark Gable's "Mike Brannan" character in the racing movie, "To Please A Lady." Rose was also a talented automotive engineer. After appearing among the guests of honor at the 1980 Indianapolis 500, Rose died on New Year's Day, 1981. (bio by: Warrick L. Barrett)
