KIRKVILLE~~Harry Maxwell Sr. 85 of Kirkville died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa. He had been ill several weeks.
He was a retired construction worker and coal miner. He was born at Angus, Iowa on March 1, 1884. He was a member of The Building abd Construction Workers Union 177.
Surviving are his wife Lillie; six sons; Harry Maxwell of Kirkville, Bill, Bob and Carl Maxwell all of Des Moines, J.C. Maxwell of Pomona, Calif. and Sgt. John D. Maxwell serving with the Army in
Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter Mrs. Sue Graves of Ft. Worth, Texas; 26 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. One son, 2 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa with the Rev. John King pastor of the Kirkville Methodist Church officiating. Burilal will be in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Hining, Lee Deck, Boyd Wright, Henry and Lawrence Shilling and Jess Fridley.
