Bill Anderson, 73, of Branson, Missouri, went to his heavenly home on December 4, 2012 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Bill was born September 20, 1939 in Mammoth, Missouri to Elmer and Myrtle Anderson.
Bill grew up in the Mammoth and Gainesville areas. He and his family moved to Wichita, Kansas where he graduated from high school. Bill then moved to the Kansas City area in the late 1950's. He retired from Allis-Chalmers in 1995 after 30 years of service. He also owned a tavern and a barbershop in Independence, Missouri. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and later became a Shriner. He was a member of Glendale Christian Church in Springfield and their Men's Bible Study Group.
Bill is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jamelia (Bookasta) Anderson of the home; daughters, Denise Bailey (Curtis Willard) of Lake Mary, Florida, and Michelle (Larry) Cook of Branson; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, J. Ralph (Dorothy) Anderson of Gainesville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and many, many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Travis Anderson and Hershel Anderson. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Glendale Christian Church in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Glendale Christian Church in Springfield.
