Francis E. Guinn, 87, of Flora, Illinois, died at 9:15 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at his residence.

He was born on January 6, 1925, in Clay County to Henry & Margaret "Maggie" Guinn. On March 5, 1946, Francis married Beulah Althea "Dude" Young in Louisville, Illinois.

Francis spent his working years as a truck driver. He worked for Iola Rock Quarry and was a member of the Local #841 Operators Union until his retirement in 1971.

Coon hunting was one of his favorite past times. He was a member of the Flora Coon Club.

Francis is survived by his wife Althea "Dude" (Young) Guinn , four daughters, Louise Eckelberry, Rita Cosner, Rose Anderson, and Ann Stanford; five sons, Gary, Jerry, Roger, John, and Wayne Guinn; twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, a great grandchild & twenty-four step-children as well as many step-grandchildren.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry Michael Guinn, a daughter, Althea Mae Lewis, a granddaughter Kayla, a great-grandson Justin, and three brothers, and five sisters .

Services were held at Byrd & Kohn Funeral Home.
