In the early 1960's the U.S. Corps of Engineers moved twenty cemeteries in order to accommodate construction of the Carr Fork Dam and Reservoir. Most of the graves became a major part of the new Carr Fork Memorial Cemetery. More than 700 graves identified and are listed below. It should be noted that the order of names on this list may not coincide with the order in which the graves appear after relocation. Unfortunately, a great many were not identified even though their graves were also moved.
