John Morris Bush
John Morris Bush was born in Clearfield county, Pennsylvania, Dec. 26, 1833, and died Monday evening, Feb. 8, 1919, at the home of his son, J.. M. Bush Jr., at Plover, Iowa, aged eighty-five years, one month and eight days.
He came to Iowa in 1874, first settling at Newell, Buena Vista county, later moved to Fonda in 1875, then to a farm south of Rolfe, where he lived until 1903. He then moved to Dallas county, and in 1910 came to Plover, where he has since made his home.
He was married in 1876 to Jennie A. Smith, who passed away in 1883, and to this union was born one child, John M. Bush, with whom he has made his home for the past twenty-two years, and who with five grandchildren and three great-greatchildren survive him. He also leaves to mourn his loss three brothers, Wm. P. of Gilmore City, Iowa, James H. of Leavenworth, Kansas, and O. P. Bush of Altoona, Penn.; and four sisters, Luella Bush, Elizabeth Bush, Emma Stott and Mary J. Lumadue. One brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
Mr. Bush united with the Methodist church at Rolfe, Iowa, in 1910.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Chirch in Plover Wednesday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Glenn Squires. Interment was made in Clinton cemetery at Rolfe.
