Allie was the daughter of Albert and Nettie Amundson. Her father and his brother, Charles, co-founded Amundson Hardware Co. in Sunnyside in 1909. The business, which sold hardware, furniture and sporting goods, was the largest retail store of its kind in the Lower Valley for many years. Her brothers, Les and Lloyd Amundson, continued to operate the store until their retirement in 1984.

Miss Amundson grew up and attended schools in Sunnyside. She received her education degree from Washington State University and returned to Sunnyside, where she alternated between teaching in the public schools and working at the hardware store until she retired. She belonged to the United Methodist Church in Sunnyside, as well as several community organizations.

Survivors include two sisters, Ethel Hilderbrand and Margaret Mason; one brother Les Amundson; her niece, Mary Ann Abercrombie; and numerous other nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta(Stover) and Hazel; and three brothers, Lloyd, Archie, and Kenneth.

Allie died after suffering a stroke.
