Temple Gwathmey, Jr. was one of thirteen children born to Temple Gwathmey, Sr. and his wife Ann Baylor.
Temple was united in marriage to Ann Maria Watts, one of the daughters of William Watts and his wife Mary Scott, on September 2, 1811. Temple, Jr. and Ann Maria were blessed with three children:

Sacred to the memory of TEMPLE GWATHMEY, who died Dec. 26th, 1848, in the 66th year of his age. He was affectionate and devoted in all the relations of son, brother, husband and father, an indulgent master, a kind neighbor and an honest man, and an humble and sincere Christian. He died full of hope that his sins were forgiven him through the merits of his Redeemer. Blessed are the poor in spirit for their's is the Kingdom of Heaven. His wife and daughter, also Henry, son of John J. Werth, lie buried here.
Note: 'Buried seventy feet from the main entrance of the cemetery, and near a large sycamore tree, on the left hand side as you enter the grounds.'
