Mrs. DAVID ANDREWS
DORSET - Mrs. Mary L. Andrews, 86, widow of David Andrews, died Wednesday at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Bennington, after a month's illness.
She was born in East Rupert on Jan 5, 1884, daughter of Oliver and Sarah (Hill) Danforth. Later, after the death of her mother, she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Williams. Mrs. Williams was an aunt.
She had attended Castleton Normal School and Northfield Seminary in Northfield, Mass. She was a graduate of Mt. Hermon Academy.
Since 1913, when her husband died, she had lived in Dorset in the family home. For many years she was a candy manufacturer.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Robert K. Rudolph and Miss Helen Andrews, both of Dorset; three grandsons, a granddaughter, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a half-sister, Miss Mildred Danforth of East Rupert.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Maple Hill Cemetery Association of Dorset or to the Bennington County Humane Society in Shaftsbury.
Private family services will be held in Dorset Sunday. Burial will be in Maple View Cemetery.
