ROY D. KEEHN RITES TO BE HELD THURSDAY IN LAKE FOREST HOME

Funeral services for Roy D. Keehn, 71, attorney and retired lieutenant general of the Illinois National Guard, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in his home on Telegraph rd. near Lake Forest. The Rev. Arthur F. Ewert, of Jacksonville, Morgan county, former chaplain of the 33d division, will officiate.

Burial will be in Lake Forest cemetery, with military services at the graveside. A firing squad and buglers from the 131st infantry of the Illinois National Guard will participate.

Keehn, who died Monday night in Passavant hospital, commanded the national guard's 33d division from 1927 until his retirement in 1940. From 1907 to 1930 he was legal representative for William Randolph Hearst in the middle west, and for a time was publisher of the old Chicago Herald-Examiner. Since 1942 he had been a member of the Illinois Athletic commission and previously served as chairman of the Illinois Commerce commission.

GEN. KEEHN HONORED BY MILITARY LEADERS AT LAKE FOREST RITES

Roy D. Keehn, 71, attorney, retired lieutenant general of the Illinois National Guard, and former commander of the 33d division, was buried yesterday with military honors in Lake Forest cemetery. Services were conducted in his home on Telegraph rd., near Lake Forest, by Arthur F. Ewert, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian church and former 33d division chaplain. Gen. Keehn died Monday night in Passavant hospital.
At the graveside, Col. James Hilton commanded a firing squad and buglers from the 131st infantry regiment. The pallbearers, headed by former Gov. Dwight H. Green, were:
Lt. Gen. Samuel T. Lawton, former commander of the 33d division; Maj. Gen. Joseph A. Teece, commander of Illinois troops, and of the 44th division; Maj. Gen. Richard Smykal, commander of the 33d division; Maj. Gen. Leo M. Boyle, adjutant general; Brig. Gen. Thomas Hammond, former commander of the 66th infantry brigade; Brig. Gen. Julius Klein, commander of the 109th anti-aircraft brigade; Brig. Gen. Benedict Aaron, Illinois surgeon general; Col. Lawrence F. Whiting; Col. Harold A. Moore; Raymond D. Berry, and Charles Hough.
