JONESBORO--James E. "Jim" Staggs, 57, of Jonesboro, IN, died Thursday, November 29, 2012.
He was born of the late Jesse Staggs and the late Ethel M. (Cook) Staggs. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on October 17, 1955. He attended Madison-Grant Schools. James was a carpet installer for Staggs Floor Covering. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. Talented and creative, working with his hands, he built a house without blue prints, enjoyed collecting and antiquing, turning junk into treasures and making things for his grandchildren. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren who were the highlight of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Anita (Stanley) Staggs, Jonesboro, IN; two daughters, Stacy (Larry) Carter, Guymon, OK, and Jessica (Kasey) Brown, Pendleton, IN; two sons, Scott (Amber) Staggs, Upland, IN, and Benjamin (Casie) Staggs, Gas City, IN; two sisters, Becky Sandavol, Summitville, IN, and Kim (Tom) Lainhart, Summitville, IN; two brothers, Harold "Doug" (Cristy) Staggs, Summitville, IN, and John (Dawn) Staggs, Marion, IN; eight grandchildren, Colton Staggs, Cailey Staggs, McKenzee Staggs, Brandon Staggs, Chloe Staggs, Jayden Brown, Kadence Brown, Ryder Carter; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN, with Chris Mishler officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
