Rebecca Jane Ward Cooper, 75, widow of Jessie James Cooper Sr., died Friday, November 30, 2012, at Ron McNair Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lake City.

She was born May 13, 1937, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Arthur Ward and the late Lizzie Cox Ward.

She was first married to Howard Gus Weavil.

Mrs. Cooper was survived by five sons, Donald (Debbie) Weavil of Georgetown, David Weavil of Georgetown, Daniel Bromell of TN, Jessie J. (Theresa) Cooper Jr. of Georgetown, and John A. (Judy) Cooper of Garden City; six grandchildren, Courtney Jackson, Tiffany Cooper, Nicki Cates, Lee Watts, Kevin Cox, and Kenneth Cox; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Annette Stewart, and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral, officiated by the Rev. Mark C. Potter, was December 4, 2012, in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
