Elderly Woodland Resident Dies
Funeral services for J M Boykin, who died at his home here after illness on Thursday night, May 18, were held from the Woodland Baptist Church Saturday afternoon. He was 84.
Services were conducted by the Rev. D D Satterwhite, pastor of the Houston First Baptist Church.
Interment was in the Woodland cemetery.
He is survived by six children: four sons, Clifton Boykin of Winona, Miss., John Boykin of Itta Bena; J C Boykin, with the U S Army, stationed in Germany, and Edward Boykin of Darling; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Davidson of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Jerry Ballain of Washington, D C.
He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. L B Hill of Houston. Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Boykin. They were: J G Johnson, Ardell Johnson, Aaron Martin, Guy Vaughn, L V Hill and Herbert Hill. Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
