Domenic John was born on June 15, 1913 & raised on Nathaniel Ave. in Cleveland, the 7th of ten children of Antonio & Louisa. He had brothers John, Roy, Victor, Dan & Walter and sisters Pauline, Jennie & Margaret. His parents immigrated from Oratino, Italy in the early 1900's, first to Scranton, PA and then to Cleveland.
He graduated from Collinwood High School in 1931 and attended Western Reserve College from 1931/1934 on an athletic scholarship.
He was 24 when he married Mary Virginia Hartman, she was 19, on Sept. 2, 1937 in Cleveland and they had two daughters -- Marylou and Sandra.
Dom served as a 2nd Lt. in the Medical Corp. in the Army stationed in Denver, CO from 1942 to 1947.
After 26 years of marriage, Virginia died on Feb. 26, 1963. He then married Audrey Muccino in 1965. Her sister Viola married Dom's brother Roy.
Dom was a supervisor for Republic Steel & Tube for over 25 years and retired in 1964.
He was 6' tall with brown hair & brown eyes.
He was 71 years old when he died on Feb. 12, 1985 from cardiac arrest 20 days following a heart attack and was living at 2250 Par Lane in Willoughby Hills.
Dom is buried in All Soul's Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio Sec. 26, Lot 2948, Grave 2 along with Virginia.
He was survived by Audrey, his daughters & 6 grand-children.
