He was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hattie Agnor Nicely; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Manley of Lexington, Mrs. Louise Markham of Roanoke and Mrs. Dorothy McKenna of College Park, Md.; four sons; Guy C. Nicely Jr., Paul Nicely and Kenton L. Nicely of Lexington, and Ovie E. Nicely of Buena Vista; a sister, Mrs. Sadie Rowe of Raphine; three brothers, Alva Nicely of Lexington, Sidney Nicely of Brownsburg and Nathan Nicely of Waynesboro, and 20 grandchildren.
The Rev. Phillip Mace conducted a funeral service yesterday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Harrison's Funeral Home. Burial was in Oxford Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
