RITES TODAY

Funeral services for Louis Steinhauer
will be held this afternoon at
2 o'clock at the family home in Farmers
Valley. Rev. N. B. Erickson,
pastor of the Valley United Brethren:
church, will officiate. Burial will be
in Smith Hill cemetery.
Louis Steinhauer, aged 83, a well
known and highly respected resident
of Farmers Valley, died Tuesday
morning at 8:15 o'clock at his home.
He had been in failing health for
some time, due to his advanced age,
but had been active up to the time
of his death. He was stricken with a
heart attack while preparing to arise
from bed Tuesday morning.
Mr. Steinhauer was the oldest
member of the Smethport Masonic
fraternity, and in politics he had
been a loyal Democrat.
Mr. Steinhauer was born in Clermont,
Pa., October 5, 1848, and moved
to Fanners Valley in 1899. He was
united in marriage to Fanny Beckwith
in 1876. He had been active in
the pioneer development of McKean
county.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Fanny Steinhauer; two sons, F. L.
Steinhauer of La Junta, Colo., L. S.
Steinhauer of Derrick City; three
daughters, Mrs. L. A. Moody of State
Line, N. Y., Mrs. W. B. Hopper of
Buffalo, and Mrs. Guy L. Moore of
Rew City.
