Elmer B. Cornwell, 75, of Cove Creek Road, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Cornwell retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.
He was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church and Beersheba Lodge #449, F&AM, and was an honorary member of the South Greene Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years:Lela Kate Reynolds Cornwell; a daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Jim Cutshall; a son: Steven Cornwell; three granddaughters and two special grandsons-in-law: Julie and Dwight Mease, Janet Cutshall, and Wendy and Kevin Quinn; two great-grandsons: Samuel Mease and Dustin Quinn; a great-granddaughter: Kayla Quinn; a sister: Josephine Parman; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Willie Kate Cornwell, Norma Cornwell, and Juanita and Matt Orth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Dave and Anna Lee Clendenon Cornwell and was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Cornwell and J.D. Cornwell.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.
A Masonic service will be conducted by Beersheba Lodge at 6:30 this evening in the chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at Solomon Lutheran Church with interment in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Ralph Storm, pastor, will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Dwight Mease, Jason Southerland, Kevin Quinn, Lanny Kinser, Charles Kinser, Terry Sauceman, Eric Shipley, and Jim Fillers.
The men of Solomon Lutheran Church will be honorary pallbearers
