W. H. Heatherby Claimed By Death
William H. Heatherby, 65, of 96 Brown street, Ashley, died this morning at 2:40 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where he had been a patient since February 23.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 in Homer E. Graham funeral home, 324 South Franklin street, city, with Rev. William K. Russell of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr. Heatherby was born at Ashley on January 10, 1881, a son of James and Mary Jane Heatherby. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, city, and was active in civic and fraternal affairs of Ashley.
For 20 years Mr. Heatherby was treasurer of Ashley Lodge of I. O. O. F., and was pastmaster of Coalville Lodge 474, F. and A. M. He worked as a docking boss at Huber Colliery, Glen Alden Coal Company.
Mr. Heatherby's wife, Anna Jane Benninger Heatherby, died in 1933.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Mary Heatherby and Mrs. Frank J. Cole, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Sara Ichter, Ashley; Mrs. Abner Miller, Syracuse N. Y., and a brother, Harry Heatherby, Wilkes-Barre.
