Funeral Rites for Pvt Coad

Body to Arrive Here on Tuesday

Funeral services for private Earnest D Coad, 31, killed in action near Aachen, Germany on 22 Nov 1944, will be held at 10 am Wednesday at Saint Francis Church. His body is expected here tuesday afternoon.

Msgr. J. P. Danahey will officiate, with burial at St. Joseph's cemetery.

A native of Nebraska, Pvt. Coad made his home in Omaha prior to the war. He was a member of St. Mary Magdelene Catholic church at Berkley, California. Survivors are widdow, Elizabeth Tinley Coad, of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Jane, Susan and Constance, all at home; and two sisters, Mrs. George Wigert, and Mrs C. A. Jeffrey.

(note: remains returned three years later in 1947

Footnote although this obit clearly shows him in St Joseph Cemetery, an inquiry by a Find a grave member finds no mention of his name in the records in 2012.
