Death: May 24, 1945

A boy named Leslie is mentioned several time in letters written by Eleanor Shapard Cooke to her daughter Eula Cooke Seay. "Leslie" is always mentioned in association with his father, "Mr. Thomson" (W. A. Thomson or William Alexander Thomson). It is thought that this Leslie is the half brother of Kenneth Thomson, son of William and Katie (Shapard) Thomson. Kenneth mentions his half brother placing a grave-stone on their father's grave which is located in the Valera Cemetery, Valera, Coleman Co., Texas.

Texas Department of Health's death records 1941-1945 lists a "Leslie A. Thomson" who died on May 24, 1945 in Tom Green Co., Texas. I received Leslie Alexander Thomson's death record today August 13, 2002 from the Texas Department of Health, Bureau Of Vital Statistics. It indicates that Leslie was born in Brenham, (Washington County) Texas on May 8 , 1880 and died May 24, 1945 in Shannon Hospital, San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas. It lists his "Father" and "Mother" as "Unknown". The informant was Mrs. Roy A. Langston of Temple, Texas. Mrs. Langston was his sister, Ray Virginia Thomson Langston. Burial was at Fairmont (Cemetery), San Angelo, Tom Green Co., Texas. Leslie was living in San Angelo, Tom Green Co. Texas for 25 years before his death. He was about 40 years old when he started living in San Angelo in 1920. He was living in San Angelo when his father died in 1932. It was probably Leslie Alexander Thomson who had the grave stone placed on his father's grave.
