Nancy Jane Isabelle 'Belle' Eoff was born November 24, 1866 in Arkansas, daughter of William Alexander Eoff (1831-1914) and Elvira Frances Virginia 'Jane' Penuel (1833-1907).

The 1870 Federal Census for Jackson, Arkansas (Newton County) shows Nancy J. 'Belle' Eoff, age 4, born in Arkansas; living with her father, Alexander Eoff, a farm laborer, age 45, born in Tennessee; and her mother, Jane, age 45, born in Tennessee. Also living in the household were Belle's siblings: Zobia Eoff, age 20; John J. Eoff, age 18; Lucy C. Eoff, age 16; Samuel M. Eoff, age 13; Mary E. Eoff, age 7; William J. Eoff, age 9; and Isaac Eoff, age 9 months; all born in Arkansas.

In January 1882 in Boone County, Arkansas, Belle married James Jasper Ricketts, who was born May 27, 1856 in Cole County, Missouri, son of William Gibson Ricketts and Susan Catherine McDaniel.

The 1910 Federal Census for Township 8, Oklahoma(Bryan County) shows James Ricketts, a farmer, age 53, born in Missouri; and his wife, Belle, age 43, born in Arkansas. Living with them were five children: Kate, age 19, born in Texas; Selma, age 16, born in Texas; Beatrice, age 10, born in Oklahoma; Ruby, age 7, born in Oklahoma; and Opal, age 2, born in Oklahoma.

Belle died September 30, 1919 in Bryan County, Oklahoma and was buried in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County).

The 1920 Federal Census for Dallas Precinct 19, Texas(Dallas County) shows James J. Ricketts, a widower and a farmer, age 63, born in Missouri. He was living in the household of his married daughter, Mable R. Ellis, age 32, born in Arkansas; and her husband, Frank Ellis, a street car motorman, age 38, born in Texas; and their children, Milburn W., age 11; and Bonnie L., age 8; both born in Texas. Also living in the household were James' other children: Beatrice J. Ricketts, a file clerk for an insurance company, age 20, born in Oklahoma; Ruby R. Ricketts, age 17, born in Oklahoma; Opal M. Ricketts, age 12, born in Oklahoma.

James died December 16, 1927 in El Paso, Texas (El Paso County) and was buried in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) beside his wife and infant son.
